It's A Blood Moon! No... Wait... Yes!

Happy Easter everyone!

This year, my family went out to Gap Bluff then Rockdale to see the sunset, and the bad day turned into a delightful surprise as the day drew to an end. I didn't get to take any photos except the one below as I left my camera battery at home, but I think the good memories will be forever in my mind.

Basically, this is a journal entry about my day because I really really want to remember it.

I seriously cannot believe I'm doing this again...

It looks like I'm taking a break from blogging.

Oops.

To be honest, I don't know what I want to blog about. I've so far enjoyed talking about things I've seen and listened to and little musings, but other than that I have had a major mind block.

Art, design, writing, music, movies, reading, fashion, mythology... Yeah, I'm into all that (at least I think I am) or maybe I'm forcing myself to because the idea of liking them is cool? Oh boy am I in a rut. Its one of the backlashes of enjoying everything and wanting to do everything that I can't commit.

So, until I get my little mess together and sort it out, it's a break. I'm slightly disappointed in myself.

For now I think I'm just going to read blogs and get to know myself and my interests better before jumping in. I'll continue to write reviews on music, books and movies since I always do them anyway, and maybe I'll eventually get a clear head on what I like.

This kind of sucks. Ah well. I will be back though. That is a promise.

Until next time...

current jam #4: bad intentions ... niykee heaton

To be honest, I don't have much to say about this song. I heard it on 8tracks, thought it was catchy and decided to look it up. Best decision ever, and now I want to share it.

It's just one of those songs that hooked me immediately, kind of like the way 'love at first sight' works. This is probably the closest to love at first sight that I believe in -- an instant liking to a song. So yes, it is now my current jam. The first one of the year actually. Wow. It's 2015. *shudders* Freaky.

Anyway have a listen to Bad Intentions here, if you'd like:

review: the help (2011)

source
5 out of 5 stars

Funny, witty, emotional and eye-opening, this film has earned a special spot in my heart. If you aren't familiar with this movie, here are a few points to sum it up:

  • 1960s Jackson, Mississippi
  • Civil Rights Movement
  • 23-year-old aspiring female writer documenting the African-American maids' (aka The Help) point of view on the white families they work for and the adversities they encounter from being a person of colour

new years call for new diaries

Hello! Today's blog post is a DIY of my 2015 diary, which I will be using in replacement of the ugly as ones that my school provides.

So here's how everything turned out in the end:

Sorry its not a generic DIY, but I hope you can take some ideas and inspiration to splatter onto your own diary, notebook etc. Alright, let's get started...

new years resolutions

We say we'll do them and by the end of the deadline we find that we've done nothing. Yet, we continue to make them anyway. Yup, I'm talking about New Year's resolutions (and about 99% of my school assignments).

Since the year is coming to a close, I'd like to share my ten resolutions.
  1. stay true to myself
  2. don't be afraid to take risks and step out of my comfort zone
  3. get organised and manage my budget
  4. don't stress about university/college choices, just tackle the HSC as best as I can
  5. exercise!!!
  6. drink 1L of water every day, then midyear make it 1.5L of water
  7. take action!
  8. get a job I enjoy
  9. make new friends and be a better friend/person
  10. enjoy life as it is

So those are my goals for 2015. What are yours?

current jam #3: unattainable... little joy

"I can't coerce you into this one
Jealousy lay all your spells to bed
I'll choose unloved instead"

What is this song and why does it have a strange effect on me?

At first, I honestly had no idea what this song meant, only knowing that it made me feel calm, kind of sombre and it came with a tinge of warmth.

When I googled for answers, I discovered its subject: Falling in love with your friend.
